MAGNAPHOS® PLATE Magnesium Phosphide

MAGNAPHOS® PLATE is a magnesium phosphide fumigant in solid plate form for the control of stored product insects in transport vehicles, mills, warehouses, food processing facilities, tarpaulin fumigations, and ship holds. When exposed to atmospheric moisture, magnesium phosphide generates phosphine gas — the same toxic fumigant produced by aluminum phosphide products, but with a significantly faster reaction rate. This makes MAGNAPHOS® particularly well suited for fumigations conducted under cooler and drier conditions where aluminum phosphide products may underperform.

Unlike aluminum phosphide tablets and pellets, MAGNAPHOS® PLATE does not contain ammonium carbamate and releases only phosphine gas with no ammonia or carbon dioxide byproduct. Plates remain structurally intact after fumigation and must be retrieved and disposed of upon completion of the exposure period.

Complete application procedures, dosage rates, aeration requirements, disposal instructions, and spill response procedures are provided in the attached Safety Data Sheet and Applicator's Manual.

  • Single Plate — Each plate is approximately ¼ inch thick, measures 9.45 × 5.9 inches, weighs 4.13 oz (117g), and releases 33g of phosphine gas. Packaged individually in gas-tight foil pouches, 60 pouches per drum.

10-Plate Strip — Ten plates connected end-to-end as a single strip, 7.88 feet in length, releasing 330g of phosphine gas per strip. Packaged 6 strips per drum.

Each full drum contains 60 plates and will generate a total of 1,980g of phosphine gas. Shelf life is unlimited provided packaging remains sealed and intact. Once opened, plates must be used per label instructions or properly deactivated for disposal — pouches cannot be resealed for future use.
